Rio: Calls out of Olympia Olympia course in Rio de janeiro

Started the countdown to the Olympic Games Rio 2016.

The traditional ceremony of the lighting of the Olympic flame, occurred at Olympia, in Greece, the birthplace of the games.

The torch will go through several countries, until, on August 5, to Rio de Janeiro.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) expect the Olympics to be a success, despite Brasilia crossing one of the most serious political crises of its history.

"In these difficult days that Brazil faces, the flame is a timeless reminder of what we do, all part of the same humanity. The flame is an ancient symbol of peace and harmony. A symbol of the power of the Union of humanity, despite our differences, "notes the IOC President Thomas Bach.

The Greek gymnast Eleftherios Petrounias start the journey towards Brazil.

On day 26 of April is the Rosa Mota, Portuguese athlete gold medal in women's Marathon of the Seul88 Games, carrying the Olympic torch in the city of Marathon in Greece.

The Olympic flame arrives in Brazil, on May 3, where you will walk through all towns 328 States, until arriving to Rio de Janeiro, on August 5.
