United States prepare arrival of Zika

The virus, transmitted by mosquitoes and known to cause microcephaly in newborns, have made the headlines in Brazil, but is present in various parts of the American continent, as is the case of Puerto Rico.

"For the United States, the front line in the fight against the Zika is Puerto Rico. We believe that the territory may have hundreds of thousands of cases of infection. Potentially, there could be thousands of pregnant women infected with the Zika ", says Tom Frieden, Director of the Centers for disease control and prevention (CDC).

Atlanta, Georgia, was the scene of a meeting of health responsible for deciding a line of attack against the virus.

In Puerto Rico, the epidemic is being combated in several ways ... one of them, also experienced in Brazil, is the dispersion in nature of mosquitoes sterile to prevent playback.
