Italy: A may day dedicated to Giulio Regeni

A may day in Italy dedicated to the country's student murdered in February in Cairo.

More than 500 1000 people attended the traditional concert in Rome organized by leading trade unions in the country.

On the screens, the images of Giulio Regeni recalled the investigator in trade union issues, whose death continues to inflame tensions between Cairo and Rome.

The Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, had said on Friday that relations between the two countries depend on the cooperation of Egypt in the case.

Regeni had been discovered dead, with signs of torture, in Febru ary in Cairo.

Since then that Rome awaits the official results of the autopsy to the student body.

The Egypt refuses to provide the information, claiming it was an internal matter.
