Venezuelans invade Colombia to buy basic necessities

More than 35000 Venezuelans stormed the Colombian city of Cucuta, in search of food and drugs that they can't find in the home country.

The President of Venezuela has authorized the opening of the border for a few hours, after having closed in August.

"I cried when I went across the bridge to see the flood of people. It's unbelievable to me that all Venezuelans want to come to this neighboring country to buy things you don't find there. Every time there is less stuff, "said Ada Marquez of Venezuela.

"It's a relief to be able to come here for our products, our medicines, which we can't really there", stressed the Venezuelan Bernarda Oliveros.

"We have no food, no oil, no flour. That's why we have to come here, "lamented Carmen Velazco.
