Costa Concordia: population of Giglio in expectation

On the island of Giglio, after more than a year and a half of a landscape marked by the Costa Concordia beached, the population is now keeping an eye on the operation that is aimed at straightening the bellboy.

Despite some fears of a possible wave of pollution, the population is optimistic. In the case of Pietro Pellegrini, owner of a tobacco shop: "to see all these people who are working, see if that's people who knows what he's doing. I believe that nothing is going to happen. But we will see ... "

This Sunday, the inhabitants of Giglio organized a procession in honour of St. Maximilian, the patron saint of the island. Pray for the souls of the 32 people who lost their lives in the sinking, and the two whose bodies have not yet been found. It even expresses Leonardo Oddi, a young seminarian: "I hope they can straighten the ship and, above all, to find the last two bodies of two people who were never found."
