Death of protester leaves Istanbul again the iron and fire

Istanbul came back, this Tuesday, be fire and sword. The city was the scene of violent clashes between demonstrators and police, that resemble the ones that, last June, shook Turkey.

The police tried to disperse the demonstrators with tear gas grenades and water cannons and detained 40 people.

Hundreds of protesters had come out to the streets to protest the death of a young, in another demonstration, a few hours before.

Ahmet Atakan was killed in Antakya, a city on the border with Syria. The young, of 22 years, participated in a rally in memory of a protester, also killed in the same city during the summer.

Ahmed Salman died after being hit in the head by a tear gas grenade thrown by police. The order forces refute this version of the facts and claim that the protester fell off a roof when threw rocks at police.
