Mexicans in the street against oil privatization

In Mexico, this is a weekend of protests against the privatization of Pemex oil project.A March through the streets of the capital, Mexico City, joined several thousand people. The main target of criticism is the President Enrique Peña Nieto. The March was called by one of the great figures of the Mexican left, Cuauhtemoc Cardenas. The actor Daniel Giménez Cacho was one of the speakers on the March: "Modernize the oil industry and energy, get her to strengthen our independence, does not require changing the Constitution, nor do the Government give up productive activities," he said.Energy production in Mexico fell by about a quarter over the last ten years, due to the lack of modernity of Pemex, hence the project to privatise the company and open the oil exploration to private. But the opposition disputes this project and supports another via, which implies not privatize Pemex. The company provides employment to about 138 thousand people.
