Protests cause chaos in Sudan

A wave of popular unrest in Sudan caused at least 27 deaths. The information was put forward by a medical source in Khartoum, the capital. The country has been the scene of protests that have sown chaos since the beginning of the week.

On Wednesday, opposition in Khartoum protesters torched cars and petrol stations, vandalized and tried to rob shops and banks.

Popular anger is more an announcement of cuts in fuel subsidies.

The independence of South Sudan in 2011 has damaged the country's economy, which lost at least three-fourths of the oil production, essential for State revenues and foreign currency used to buy food.

This Thursday, the internet cut, continue protests demanding the resignation of President Omar el-Bashir, who rules the country for more than two decades and is wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal for genocide in Darfur.
