Russian justice punishes Greenpeace activists

The Russian justice extended for two months the detention of one of 30 Greenpeace activists arrested in protest against an oil rig from Gazprom in the Arctic.

The Court questioned the activists individually. Denis Sinyakov, photographer who already work in the offices of the Organization in Moscow, will remain in detention until November 24 for photographing the Greenpeace action during the intervention of the security forces to the ship.

The program director of Greenpeace in Russia, Ivan Blokov, considered that the Organization could lead the authorities to the international courts.

The crew members who were last week on vessel "Artic Sunrise", which belongs to the NGOS, were arrested and transferred to provisional detention centers in the port city of Murmansk. The activists can be accused of piracy.
