Germany: Merkel looking for partners for the Government

Looking for a new Government, Angela Merkel multiplies the meetings with all political families.

The Chancellor has already met with the Social Democrats from the SPD and the Greens and has planned another meeting with each of these parties next week.

With the Greens, the meeting Thursday was constructively, but there are still several issues to be addressed, how do you explain the leader Claudia Roth:

"We talked at length in Europe, spoke at length of the energy revolution, but I haven't even talked about the issue of international climate protection".

The CSU, the CDU's coalition partner, would best eyes an alliance with the Greens, which weighed 8% in the election than with the SPD, which reached more than 25%.

Merkel intends to form the Executive until the day 27. The inaugural session of the Bundestag is the day 22. Many members only will know by the end of the month if they represent the Government or the opposition.
