Mediterranean lives new with immigrant boat tragedy

Just a week after the shipwreck off the coast of Lampedusa which cost the lives of over 300 immigrants, the waters of the Mediterranean are the scene of a tragedy.Dozens of people died in the sinking of another ship, South of Malta and Lampedusa. The boat was carrying about 200 people. Of the survivors, most of them were rescued by a Navy ship from Malta. The most serious injuries were taken by helicopter to Lampedusa, an island that hasn't remade the tragedy of a week ago. This time, the vessel had departed from Alexandria, Egypt. The countries of southern Europe, especially Italy, receive more and more waves of immigrants from Africa. The island of Lampedusa, between Sicily and Tunisia, has been particularly affected, as it is one of the points of Europe closest to the African coast. The boats often come without conditions, overcrowded and accidents repeated. The disaster last week was one of the greatest in history. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), only this year have reached 32,000 immigrants to Malta and Lampedusa.
