Attack on freedom of expression in Egypt

This is at least the conviction of those who, this Saturday, took to the streets to contest the decision announced by CBC channel and that demonstrators say is synonymous with censorship.

"We are here to protest against what happened with Bassem Youssef and to say that freedom of the press and of expression is one of the main demands of the revolution" says Islam Khalid.

"It is shameful for the media of Egypt. This did not happen during the era of the Muslim Brotherhood "refers to Ahmed Hassan.

After an interregnum of four months, the satirical program returned to antenna last week, but not for long. The criticism to the Egyptian military will have been the last straw. The decision was known Friday and justified by the CBC, in a statement, with the breach of editorial policy.
