Hollande is in the West Bank

In a symbolic gesture, Hollande has deposited a wreath at the mausoleum of historic leader Yasser Arafat who died in 2004 in a Paris hospital.

On Sunday, the French Head of State was in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who ordered a containment effort in the expansion of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory, to strengthen the possibility of a peace agreement.

François Hollande also reiterated Paris support the Israeli Government on Iranian nuclear issue, to ensure that France will continue to act firmly in the next round of negotiations.

The French President is expected this afternoon in the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, where he's speaking.
