Ukraine: Protesters await high-level meeting in Kiev

Already in the fourth week of the Government and the Ukrainian President, the pro-European demonstrators in Central Kiev, awaiting the outcome of a meeting between the country's maximum authorities, a former President, religious leaders and other politicians, including the opposition, aimed at solving the impasse in which the country is submerged.

A big demonstration is scheduled for Sunday. "I think we won't be around for much longer. On 17 December, the President will sign an agreement of adversarial Union with Vladimir Putin ... or maybe not. I think the day 17 will be decisive for all of us, "said one protester.

"The first Vice-Premier Arbuzov, like all others, talks too much and we should not believe him because of police brutality the day 30 and on 3, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. That's why we should not believe them, "argues a young.

The Ukrainian Government is at a crossroads. Prepares to sign a Customs Union agreement on 17 with Russia, but pushed through the streets, keeps alive the negotiations with the European Union, even after having rejected the Association Agreement, which should have been signed two weeks ago.

On Thursday in Strasbourg, MEPs showed openly supporting the pro-European protesters, after Parliament has condemned what it says have been negative pressure of Russia.
