Atlantic Europe is still on alert to the tides and the wind

The same scenario in Portugal, from North to South, where the coastline is under strong pressure from the tides and wind. This Monday, 15 districts were under Orange alert and the Portuguese Institute of the sea and atmosphere (IPMA) also provides quite a stir at sea, strong wind, rain and snowfall above 600 metres. The alert remains in several districts by next Wednesday.

In Italy, heavy rains have flooded many areas. Fiumicino, near Rome, was underwater Monday and the same scenario repeated itself throughout the region of Reggio Calabria. Floods have killed three people-two women and a child.

Further north are the low temperatures â€" snow and ice â€" that make the life of citizens.

In Slovenia, a quarter of the population has no electricity. 40% of schools are closed.

The Government was forced to ask for help from neighbouring countries of the European Union, providing generators to produce electricity.

According to the Ministry of agriculture, 500 thousand hectares of forest have been destroyed by ice, half the forest area of the country.
