Bosnia and Herzegovina: Clashes between workers of a company in bankruptcy and the police

The clashes occurred in the city of Tuzla during a demonstration of workers of a company in bankruptcy proceedings.The police made 24 arrests. The protesters tried to force the entry of a regional government building.A participant in the protest said: "the elections change nothing, only this type of actions, and maybe some more radical, can force our politicians to resign".The workers accuse the authorities of privatising companies fraudulently.Tuzla is the third largest city and industrial heart of the country, but companies have been shut down as a result of privatisation leaving hundreds of people out of work.Bosnia is the country with the highest unemployment rate in the Balkans, about 27.5%.
