Pedophilia creates tension between Vatican and UN

The Vatican accused the UN of "misrepresentation" of the facts after the publication of a report in Geneva, very critical of the church about the behavior with respect to pedophile priests.

The tension increases. The report released yesterday by the Committee on the rights of the child the United Nations asked the Vatican to bring to justice all the pedophiles in the Church.

For the Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the document is not updated as a matter of facts, evidence, which cannot be deformed.

The UN Committee demands that the Holy See exercises his immediate role vis-à-vis any suspected sexual abuse and submit the case to the competent judicial authorities for investigation and trial.

The document is the concern expressed by the Holy See does not recognize the extent of the crimes committed and not to take necessary measures to deal with cases of sexual abuse of children.
