Bosnians reject cronyism with 20 years

"The population says, finally, have already suffered too much cronyism, corruption and governmental amateurism. The Government of the last 20 years has not heard the people nor their revolt. "The Bosnian Government is virtually paralyzed by descentralalização, unable to accompany the transition to capitalism. The privatization of the factories ended in bankruptcy. Practically, one in every two Bosnians are unemployed (27% officially, 45% in reality). To understand this decentralization, taken to extremes, we must go back to the time of the war of Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 95). At the end of the war, to reconcile the warring parties, the Dayton peace accords imposed complex, costly institutions, but who gave the opportunity to the Bosnians, Croats and Serbs, of being represented fairly. Thus, Bosnia compreente two entities: the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bosnian-Croat, and the Republika Srpska. Each is subdivided into cantons and regions. The cantons have great autonomy and a Government of its own. A true administrative maze, undermined by patronage and corruption, retracting the foreign investment. The central Government is headed by a tripartite collegiate Presidency â" a Serb, a Bosnian and a Croatian â" and the decisions require unanimity of the three communities, which results in a permanent blocking of the institutions and in repeated crises. To the protesters, the system reached the limit. Require the formation of a Government of technocrats and institutional reform. Europeans, since 2009, requires this reform as a condition for an eventual accession of Bosnia to the European Union. For now, the revolt is beyond the ethnic problems, feels really a rapprochement of the communities, but to avoid future conflicts, Brussels has already appealed to Bosnian authorities to listen to the demands of the population.
