Slovakia: Robert Fico wins first round of presidential

When were accounted for 99.1% of the vote, Robert Fico, the Social Democratic Party, the Slovenian left, had 28 percent of the vote, less than the polls gave him, against 24% achieved by millionaire Andrej Kiska who performed as an independent to the Electoral Act. The turnout was 43.4%.The two candidates meet in a second round scheduled for 29 March.Robert Fico's critics are skeptical because they believe that a victory means the concentration of power since his party controls Parliament and Government.The new Slovak head of State will take possession on June 15.
