Russia threatens to cut off gas to Ukraine in the next few hours

The Russia announces that it will cut gas supplies to Ukraine from 6:0 in the morning, if Kiev does not pay the debt.

Negotiations between the President of Gazprom, Alexei Miller and the Ukrainian authorities with the presence of the European Commissioner for energy have failed.

The Russian energy group requires the ucrâniana debt equivalent to 1.44 billion euros.

The Ukraine insists on review of the 2009 agreement, which requires it to buy a given volume of gas to 485 dollars-more than EUR-358, per 1,000 cubic meters, the highest price for a European client.

If the threat come true, gas supplies to Europe could be affected. About half of Russian gas sold to Europe passes through Ukrainian pipelines.
