Impending ground offensive continues in Israel against Gaza

Israel continues preparations for a possible ground offensive against the Gaza Strip.

After receiving a phone call from Barack Obama, who expressed the concern of the United States in the face of escalating violence, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said that international pressure will not prevent his Government from acting with all the power that it offers.

"Israel is determined to see this through. Our goal is to put an end to the attacks of roquetes fired from Gaza against our civilians. Hamas has to be convinced that you can't keep shooting roquetes against Israel with impunity, "said the spokesman for the Israeli Government.

An Israeli report released Saturday indicated that Hamas has fired about 700 missiles against Israel.
