Middle East: more violence keeps hope of ceasefire

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has increased in intensity on Monday.

At least 18 Palestinians killed is the balance of the bombing that occurred last night.

In Khan Yunis, South of Gaza, an airstrike killed at least three Palestinians. The injured were transported to the local hospital.

Apart from Khan Yunis, Rafah was also hit by Israeli missiles.

Hours earlier, on Monday afternoon, a park in Gaza was the target of a missile attack. At least 10 Palestinians were killed, including several children.

"I saw seven children who were playing. They died instantly, were three men sitting there who also died. The kids were happy playing, to celebrate the Eid when were hit, "said Nidal Aljerbi, an eyewitness.

The resume of violence laid down any hopes for a ceasefire at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Also Israeli side there are casualties to mourn.

Four Israeli soldiers were killed by a Palestinian mortar shot.

The deaths raise to 48 the number of Israelis dead versus more than 1.100 of the Palestinian side.
