Government highlights "democratic and civic way" of Tunisia presidential

Presidential elections in Tunisia, preliminary results indicate the completion of a second round.

Former Minister of Ben Ali appears to have advantage over Acting President, an opponent to the former dictatorship.

Beji Caid Essebsi broke as a favorite against the veteran technocrat Moncef Marzouki and current President who warned against return of the "one-party era".

Marzouki was elected interim President with the support of Ennahda, but in this election the moderate Islamic party did not indicate no candidate.

While awaiting the results of the voting after a participation of 64.4%, both camps claimed to be ahead.
