ICC withdraws charges against Kenyan head of State

Uhuru Kenyatta has already welcomed the decision that prosecutors justified the lack of evidence to formulate an accusation of criminal liability.

Kenyatta was accused of crimes against humanity linked to the wave of violence in the country, after the presidential elections of 2007.

"I believe that Kenyans are happy because our President will be able to go back home and concentrate on your work," says a woman.

A man adds: "I regard as positive the fact that the judges have concluded that the evidence did not permit sustain the charges and because they were they to retreat."

The post-election violence at the end of 2007 and beginning of 2008 caused at least 1200 deaths. More than 600 thousand people were forced to leave their homes.
