Palestinians react in opposite ways to vote in the French Parliament
"The France belongs to the European Union and supports the Palestinians. For some people it's just a symbolic step but it's very important for the Palestinian people. For many, the motion passed in Paris is detrimental to the negotiations between the two peoples:"I think the French Parliament's vote is not good because it won't help in discussions between Israelis and Palestinians."In Washington, the State Department pointed out that this motion is not binding on the Government policy of Paris and stressed that the United States would prefer direct negotiations between representatives of the two peoples.
