Queen Elizabeth II calls for reconciliation in the world

The monarch pointed out in particular the reconciliation in the United Kingdom, a reference to the recent referendum on the independence of Scotland which took place last September.

"It is clear that reconciliation takes different formats. In Scotland, after the referendum, many were disappointed, others felt a huge relief; reconcile these differences will take time, "said Elizabeth II.

In the message, traditionally broadcast on the afternoon of 25 December, the monarch praised the work of health professionals who fight against the Ebola epidemic in Africa.

The Christmas message is written by the Queen herself and is repeated every year since 1952.
