Charlie Hebdo: Charb "died of foot"

Among the journalists are the editor and cartoonist Charb, the art director and designer Cabu, Tignous designers and Wolinsky and journalist Bernard Maris.

Chab, real name Stephane Charbonnier, was protected by police service after the case of caricatures of Muhammad.

The satirical newspaper became known in 2006 when decided to re-publish ' cartoons ' of the Prophet Mohammed, first published in Danish daily Jyllands-Posten and which provoked strong controversy in several Muslim countries.

In interviews Charb said after the fire of the offices of the weekly in 2011, in retaliation for the publication of the caricatures, "is perhaps a bit pompous to say, but I'd rather die on your feet than to live on your knees"
