Spain: Court orders freezing of accounts of Rodrigo Rato

Researchers from the Spanish Tax Agency office this Friday a new RAID on offices of the former Minister of economy of the Government while Aznar, the press of the country wondered if Mouse will not be the "scapegoat" of the Popular Party, in power in the election year and at a time when the Conservative Government says heavily involved in combating corruption.

The Spanish vice Prime Minister argued that "institutions must work, without taking into account the time or place, whether or not elections soon, and affect one or another politician".

Rato denied the accusations and pledged not to detain any society "or in tax havens, even outside the European Union". According to the Spanish daily El País, the former Director of the IMF was being investigated by the IRS since a year ago.
