Pakistan: heat made more than a thousand dead but thermometers are down

Most of the deaths recorded in the country's financial capital, Karachi, where 40,000 people have been assisted in hospitals and health centers.

Temperatures are, however, coming down and the thermometers not surpassed this Thursday the 34 degrees.

A resident of Karachi says that "compared to the previous days, when it was hard to breathe, is better. The temperature dropped, the wind is blowing, the sky is covered and all expect come rain ".

The symptoms related to the heat wave were amplified with fasting associated with the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims, which began a week ago.

Most of the victims belong to the poorer classes of Pakistan, also a large number of elderly people and people who work outdoors.
