South Korea declares end of Respiratory Syndrome outbreak in the Middle East

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-Ahn.

The first case of infection, registered in South Korea, occurred more than two months and more than 186 people were infected, being this the worst outbreak of the Middle East registered respiratory syndrome out of Saudi Arabia.

"There were no more cases in the last 23 days, and the last patient under suspicion came out yesterday from quarantine. Made the assessment by doctors and by the Government, people can now be free of worries, "said Kyo-Ahn.

The cases of infection by the coronavirus, which causes cough and fever, can lead to fatal pneumonia and kidney failure, were found mainly in Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Cases were also recorded in at least 25 countries, due to the mobility of persons.
