Afghanistan: bloody week in Kabul ends with 35 more dead

Beyond the bomber died 20 Afghan security forces recruits. More than two dozen people were injured. It was just the latest in a series of attacks that occurred at the end of a bloody week in Kabul, the middle of which, curiously, was revealed by the United Nations Mission for Afghanistan (UNAMA, in), a new six-month record of victims (dead and wounded) in the armed conflict.

Earlier this morning, another suicide bomber drove a truck bomb into the building of the National Directorate of security, situated in a residential area of the capital, with the Ministry of Defense. The shock wave from the explosion caused extensive destruction on the perimeter. At least 15 people were killed and over 280 were injured. "It was a cowardly attack against civilians," reacted Sayed Zafar N., President spokesman Ashraf Ghani.

During this Friday, there are reports they have been listened to at least two other explosions in Kabul. One of them in the vicinity of the airport. After the explosion, the Afghan air force jets were seen flying over the capital.

A spokesman for the Taliban claimed responsibility of the attack on the Police Academy, which took place a week after the Islamic rebel group have announced a new leader.
