Interim Prime Minister of Greece, Vassiliki Thanou, has already taken possession.

The first woman from Greece to drive a Government should ensure the management of the country until the early legislative elections, planned for September 20.

The ceremony of swearing in happened in the Presidential Palace in the presence of President Minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos and high dignitaries of the Orthodox Church.

According to the Presidency's services a new Government will be named on Friday.

The appointment of Thanou happens a week after the resignation of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, leader of Syriza.
