Germany wants to cut European funds to countries that reject the refugee quotas

In the face of opposition from several Eastern European countries, the persons responsible for the 28 failed to reach an agreement to distribute 120 thousand refugees by the Member States.

The German Vice-Chancellor, Sigmar Gabriel accused the EU of "disgracing his own refugee policy".

Already the German Interior Minister, Thomas de Maziére, suggested the possibility of cutting European aid to countries that refuse to accept migrants.

"The countries that refuse to accept quotas of refugees, are countries which receive structural aid from the European Union. As suggested Jean-Claude Juncker, and rightly so, these countries should receive less aid from the structural funds ".
