Turkey holds elections but suspends rallies

Elections in Turkey are kept for 1 day of November but the rallies of the election campaign in the coming days were suspended for security reasons.

The bombing Saturday provocu 97 dead and nearly 250 wounded, left the country in a State of shock and were redoubled security measures in major cities, a few weeks before the trip to the polls.

Omer Celik, a spokesman of the AK Party Government, explained the decision to cancel the next few rallies.

The authorities claim they are in the process of identifying one of the two suicide bombers responsible for the Saturday attack in Ankara and say that everything indicates that this is the self-styled Islamic State.

The opposition parties denounced the Government's decisions as being opportunistic and not security.

"This is not for security reasons. How can we hold a rally in an atmosphere so sad? We can make our own security measures. The life of a person is more important than our rallies. "
