Swiss vote in referendum immediate deportation of foreign criminals

The law already exists, approved for about 53% of the vote in 2010, but the SVP claims that the parliamentary version softened by providing for the intervention of the courts if the deportation if proved a measure too hard.

Compliance with the letter of the law collides with human rights and with the Free Circulation of People agreed with the European Union.

The Federal Council and Parliament are opposed to what could cause uncertainty in bilateral relations with the most important trading partner of Switzerland.
