Spain: trial of the Prestige case comes to an end

In 2002 the tanker Prestige spilled 50 thousand tons of oil off the coast of Galicia, in addition to affecting the Galician coast, the waterfronts of Portugal and France.

In the dock sit the Greek captain, Apostolos Mangouras, the Chief Engineer Nikolaos Argyropoulos, also Greek, and the head of the Spanish merchant marine, Jose Luis Lopez-Sors.

The prosecution intends to more than 4 billion euros of damages.

The stroke affected approximately 1700 kilometres of coastline. Thousands of volunteers took part in the cleanup operations.



In an unusual gesture, the judge pointed the finger at several political figures and not just that in your opinion should appear in the dock.
