Pakistan: Government and Taliban begin dialogue for peace

At the end of about three hours of meeting in Islamabad, the parties released a joint statement in which condemn violence and reaffirm the commitment to the dialogue. The head of the Taliban delegation stated that "for the success of the talks is necessary to end all activities against the peace and security". The emissaries of the Government agreed and expressed the desire to "put an end to anarchy" so that "people can live in peace according to the teachings of Islam".Since 2007 the Taliban seek to impose the Islamic law (sharia) in Pakistan and the previous attempts to negotiate peace ultimately serve the militants to regroup and attack again, which is why many are skeptical about the success of this dialogue.
