Washington rejects Cuban refugees close their doors

A meeting to discuss the review of the migratory agreements, during which the two countries have differences, especially on the law that allows Cuban refugees are hosted in the United States.

For the head of the Cuban delegation, Josefina Vidal, "the maintenance of the so-called policy of dry feet, wet feet and the adjustment law continues to be the main stimulus to illegal immigration and the trafficking of immigrants".

The United States had already said they were not willing to abolish the law. A divergence that should not disrupt discussions this Thursday, dedicated to the reopening of embassies and the re-establishment of diplomatic relations, on the former borders of the cold war.
