Comedian wins first round of presidencias in Guatemala

According to the provisional results, the conservative Jimmy Morales is the winner of the Sunday elections, marked by the wave of discontent against the ex-President Otto Perez Molina, arrested last week, after resign, accused of corruption.

Morales will face the businessman Manuel Baldizon, second in the ballot, in the second round scheduled for October 25.

The result, after a participation of around 70%, reflects the mistrust of the electorate after the corruption scandal that rocked the previous head of State.
