Panama documents: Friends of Putin or fronts?

The name of the head of the Russian State does not appear in the files of the case of "Panama" documents, the biggest case of leak linked to offshore companies. Among the exposed faces are, however, several friends of Vladimir Putin singled out as likely fronts of the former KGB agent.

The strong friendship with Sergey Roldugin will be born at the end of the Decade of 70, in the city that is now known as Saint Petersburg. Is this man who just come to known as one of the greatest cellists in the world presenting Putin his first wife, Ludmila, and is chosen to sponsor the eldest daughter.

Besides Roldugin, the documents point to other men close to Putin: Arkady Rotenberg, a childhood friend who became a multimillionaire and Yuri Kovalchuk, a Ru ssian banker. Men besides the friendship to Putin have another feature in common a connection to Bank Rossiya, based in Saint Petersburg. An institution that will have used the services of Mossack Fonseca-a law firm with headquarters in Panama with representation in more than 40 countries â€" to create companies in tax havens.

Companies linked to Roldugin were managed by a company that acted on behalf of Bank Rossiya. These companies, in turn, received Russian commercial bank loans and lend that money, higher interest rates, the other offshore companies.

Another bank connected to the case is the Russian commercial bank in Cyprus, subsidiary of the Russian State Bank VTB.

According to the documents released by the internation al consortium of investigative Journalists Sergei Roldugin will have diverted more than 2000 million dollars with the help of banks and fictitious companies.
